Gwanda – Nkomwa Foundation Trust (NFT) applauds the business community for their recent support in sustaining operations in Matabeleland South Province, where they are distributing goods courtesy well-wishers who offered donations.

The Gwanda based organisation has been receiving gifts in form of cash and kind from business community, thus from small individual businesses to big corporations.

Disability programming is very costly and requires enough resources to meet the needs of the persons with disabilities. Recently, the organisation received mealie meal which was distributed in Beitbridge community and a gesture of one hundred blankets were received for persons with disabilities in Gwanda district.

According to NFT, distribution commenced with fifteen learners at Jairos Jiri Vocational Training centre benefiting. These learners are from Gwanda rural wards undertaking various course disciplines like welding, hotel and catering and basketry among others.

Learners could not hide their joy after receiving their blankets, as Sehliselubuhle Ncube expressed her gratitude on behalf of others.

“We are so thankful to Mr Nkomwa-our father who brought this gift to us. He does not rest as he tries to care for us. We were nothing as we suffered in our communities, today life is not the same. We are attaining skills and getting exposure in this world. Thank you very much babawethu, may the Lord bless you as you touch our lives” She said.

Pick Nkomwa, the founder of the Gwanda based disability organisation, expressed his gratitude for all the donations.

“Words cannot fully express how grateful I am and the entire NFT team. It was a blessing from day one as individual community members and business community contribute towards our vision.

We are who we are because of these sacrifices. The assistance have cushioned more than 2000 persons with disabilities in Matabeleland South Province and beyond. With support, a lot can be achieved in changing the narrative of persons with disabilities in communities.” Said Nkomwa.
