Bulawayo – Nkomwa Foundation Trust founder and Executive director, Pick Nkomwa paid a courtesy call at Choice News Africa offices in Bulawayo, where he shared a lighter moment with staff and Editor.
Nkomwa whose organisation is based in Gwanda Matabeleland South visited Choice News Africa Offices with his family for a social and informal chat.

The Editor of Choice News Africa, Chrispen M. Tabvura and his team had a privilege to share some lighter moments with the Noble man of God, who is also the warrior and human rights activist for people with disability.
“We welcome you Mr Nkomwa at our offices. We appreciate your gesture and love that pushed you to pay us a courtesy call. We are filled with joy, as we write in our history that one of Zimbabwe’s human rights defender of people with disability remembered us. Thank you so very much and we say as Choice Media Africa, God bless you and your tireless efforts in empowering the vulnerable,” said Tabvura.
Nkomwa’s organisation has made great strides in equipping the society and the nation of Zimbabwe to appreciate people born with physical challenges.
It was an enlightening moment to have such a wonderful moment and sharing of ideas and knowledge with a man who is hands-on, in his quest for justice for vulnerable communities, who have been left out in mainstream activities since attaining independence.
Nkomwa visited Choice News Africa on his way from Marondera where he was assisted several people, that include a nine-year-old girl, who was denied access to schooling and a mother with disability, who lives with her three children.
Nkomwa donated food and crutches, to that woman whose husband deserted her because of physical challenge, leaving her with a burden to fend for those kids.
The visit was also a warm interaction between the news team and Mr Nkomwa, where a number of issues to do with nation building were shared.
There was also a discussion to do with inclusive approach in society that allow, more participation of people born with physical challenges in planning and implementation.
Nkomwa took a swipe at the verbal abuse that men born with disability face, in their marriages.
“You find out that some people in society marry a person born with disability for the wrong reasons, sometimes financial gains.
The coming of Covid19, changed the whole life pattern as a result, financial flows changed the way people live.” Added Nkomwa.
