Bakers Inn boosts a visually challenged entrepreneur

Bulawayo – What started as a mere dream for a Nguboyenja based entrepreneur with disability, became true, after he received massive support in form of shop and transport to boost his bread marketing business.

Bakers Inn Bulawayo donated a scooter to John Jemwa Munetsi, an entrepreneur with disability, but very aggressive and passionate in business.  Jemwa can be mistaken for an able person, because of his vigour in business tactics.

The event was graced by the top management of the confectionary company, several media practitioners from different media outlets and community leaders, who took their time to witness the most important empowerment handing over of a boosting scenario.

“We met Mr. Jemwa selling 10 loaves a day, we discussed and thought of an idea to buy him a scooter for door to door deliveries, he is now selling more than 150 loaves per day’’ Said Sales Manager Mr Athanas Mutakaya.

Councillor Edwin Ndlovu, in which Jemwa is operating his business, applauded Bakers Inn, for the support and recognition for people with disability.

“I would like to thank Bakers Inn for this beautiful gesture and love they have shown to people in my ward. They did not do it for Jemwa only, but for the whole ward, because this scooter will now deliver bread to the doorsteps of people in my ward.

This is a boost for Bulawayo and the rest of Matabeleland, because this will go a long way, because people will develop love and appreciation for Bakers Inn, from this donation.

I thank you Bakers Inn from the bottom of my heart, for this donation, please keep up the good work.” Said Councillor Ndlovu.

 An over the moon Jemwa also bared his heart out to the donation that he prayed for more successes for bakers Inn.

“Bakers Inn have made my blind life sited, it has completely changed my perceptions on them, as they have shown me love that is beyond measure. I wish them all the best in their endeavors as Bakers Inn. I am going to sell more loaves of bread than before, I am going to dream Bakers Inn, sing Bakers Inn and live Bakers Inn.” Said  Jemwa in tears of joy.

Bakers Inn General Manager, Daniel Wawn cheerfully handed over the scooter to Jemwa in the presence of the staff, management, community leaders and the press.

“I have learnt something from Jemwa, a siNdebele word that I will not forget, ‘intokozo’, literally meaning an everlasting smile. We have put an everlasting smile on Jemwa’s face, his family and customers, as they will get their bread delivered to them, by a cheerful Jemwa,” added Wawn.

The company’s Sales and Area Manager Reymond Maqethuka, took time to announce their other plan in easing water shortages to their customers in Bulawayo.

“As a company we believe in empowering people where we operate from. As Bakers Inn, we have also a project to resolve water shortages in Bulawayo, as we will be drilling boreholes soon. We have got plans to drill boreholes in areas where we see the urgent need, as we know we have water challenges, this will benefit the community”. Concluded Maqethuka.
