Gwanda – Matabeleland South based organisation for persons with disabilities, NFT was honoured as the best nonprofit making organisation at the first edition Matabeleland South Business Summit and Awards held in Gwanda.
The event was organized by Beitbridge event Management Company, Sun drive Coalition. The ceremony saw various business and community influencers being honoured.

The categories were top 10 female entrepreneurs of the year, top 30 Matabeleland south influencers and 30 winners from various business categories which included mining company of the year, Media Company of the year, community development champions and Security Company of the year.
Other categories were recreational facilities, healthcare, farmer of the year, Fitness Company of the year and non-profit organisation of the year.
During the summit the businesses exhibited their products and services to the public and the guests.
Matabeleland South business community had the opportunity to mix and mingle with various guests across the country and beyond. The guest of honour was Gabriel Temudzani, a South African actor.
The event was also graced by local businesspersons and influential people that included Dr Ngoni Moyo (Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic Principal) Tinashe Mugabe (Global DNA) among others.
Speaking at the sidelines of the ceremony, Nkomwa Foundation Director, Mr Pick Nkomwa could not hide his joy for the recognition.
“I feel humbled by this recognition and we never knew that as we work there were people following our work and the impact we are making in communities.
Bravo to all my team members, this award will push us to do more and impact communities beyond the province.” He said.
Sundrive Coalition Director Honesty Innocent Chenjerai said the Matabeleland South Business Summit and Awards programme will be an annual event to be done rotationally in all seven districts.
He also said he appreciated the overwhelming support received from Gwanda business community.
Gwanda Mayor, Councillor Thulani Moyo and Gwanda-Tshitaudze Member of Parliament Fisani Moyo were among the dignitaries who were also honoured for being community development champions.
