Gwanda – Veteran Journalist and Editor for Choice News Africa and Farmers Insight magazines, Chrispen Tabvura has this week been honoured by NKOMWA Foundation Trust, an organization that deals with disability issues, for taking a bold stance in telling untold stories on disability issues.
Tabvura was handed the award amid pomp and fanfare, as it was during the commemoration of the second anniversary of the organization.
Choice News Africa Editor lifted his award in the air and received an applause and whistling from the audience, as he walked away from the podium, with his certificate smiling all the way to his guest table where other dignitaries where seated.
“I am humbled and feel greatly honoured as a Media Practitioner, to be awarded this certificate of great value, before all these dignitaries.
Now I am realizing the contribution from my work, after this recognition, from one of Zimbabwe’s renowned organisations NKOMWA Trust. I feel like I want to fly now, and those wings are from this organization for their recognition of my works.
I would like to thank the management and staff of NKOMWA Foundation and their partners for this award, that I will carry with pride to my family and workmates.,” said Tabvura.
This is Tabvura’s second award within three years, as he was also honoured by Vulindlela Ophancare Home, as outstanding community leader who empower vulnerable children and communities with self-help initiatives and projects.
He received the award in 2019, amid cheering guests, as he waved it for the participants to see.
Choice News Africa, is a Southern African based news outlet, that has also become a household name globally by boldly publishing the untold stories.
The Founding Director of NKOMWA Foundation, Pick Nkomwa, told Choice News Africa that his organization found it a blessing to award hardworking people for their contribution to the uplifting of other societies.
Patricia Tshabalala, whose Ophancare Home organization honoured Tabvura, echoed the same sentiments and described how Tabvura has been sacrificing in developing the lives of vulnerable communities, from his voluntary empowering activities.
