NFT PARTICIPATE AT PROVINCIAL OPDS CONSULTATIVE MEETINGS
Gwanda: Nkomwa Foundation Trust participated at disability consultative meetings in Gwanda District and Beitbridge District.
The meetings were convened by disability umbrella bodies in Zimbabwe—the Federation of Organisations of Disabled People in Zimbabwe (FODPZ) and the National Association of the Care of the Handicapped (NASCOH)—with support from the Department of Disability Affairs in the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare,with generous support from European commission-Zambia through Sightsavers.
The objective of the meetings was to strengthen dialogue on disability inclusion, review the disability rights landscape, and amplify the voices of persons with disabilities in shaping policies and development priorities.
Key discussions focused on frameworks such as the UNCRPD, national development strategies, and emerging legislation affecting persons with disabilities.
The meetings brought together persons with disabilities, government departments, and development partners, creating a platform for inclusive engagement, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.
